Magdalene Mist

common name, to easy miss

power in silent observance

virtuous promise of rebirth

but for the pride of first rib

where do the mysteries linger

who is to be invited to the feast

the second table has been set

now faithful await the king

Exposed

like a boy’s eyelid or a sweatshirt

i’ve been trying to turn myself

inside out

neurons reaching for new connections

electric internal buzz could finally be

set free

words scrambled like a weekend omelet

feelings and emotions tripping over

my heart

racing to interact with everything

tangled, messy, and running amok

no shield

none

Ever Thankful

serendipity surrounds
as sun seeped slopes
erupt in evergreen hopeful
blazing hearts and trails
leaving mind to wander off
into silent slumbering solitude
soul communing with live
beating drums of eternal embrace
discovering earthen tribes that
become the rhythm that sways
branches of the tallest sycamore
while cradling the possibilities

A Message for Soul Dose (A Copy of Luisa Doraz’s Post)

Soul Dose has been fighting an illness, and she is feeling lost right now. She has exhausted all of her options in South Africa, where she lives now with her family. In my opinion, she needs to seek a charitable foundation in this world of ours, that will take on her illness…and find some answers for her. Her family resources are limited and almost depleted. If ANYONE knows of ANY PLACE that can HELP, Soul Dose PLEASE go to her blog, and pass it on. I am going to start looking on the internet for her to see what I can find. YOUR LOVE AND COMPASSION IN THIS MATTER IS DEEPLY APPRECIATED.

Like others, I am passing along the message that Luisa Doraz at Believe In Yourself has so eloquently constructed on Silindile Ntuli’s behalf. Please visit Soul Dose for more information on her illness and to pass along any sort of assistance you can provide.

Edge of the World

sitting on the edge of the world
watching winds capture curtain
i began trying clouds on for size
blowing by as borrowed distress
some looking as wild horses alit
dragging me with the stampede
to high clouds of icy desperation

on clear days forever bloomed
with hope of eternal existence
encircled by a nimbus of faith
cradled in arms of belief until
again a mustang would charge
leaving me to teeter and sway

i no longer pilfer heaven’s robe
gales blast then blow across me
no struggle has been harnessed
with repeating choice to remain
sitting on the edge of the world

Diamond Trail

walking in my sleep
i notice fermentation
in the stars, falling stars
no insanity, only pure color
beholden by gateway eyes
we have become
unalterable gemstones
etching a path through
cold metal wilderness
dispersing white light
after eating the rainbow
it has lit us on fire
leaving many to
stare at the brilliant
stone of reconciliation
wondering if they can
hold on

Indigo Shadows

i come to you wrapped
in crimson speckled gauze
broken spirit my greatest gift
unable to discern the future
hearing only whispers of the
wistful spirits of ancestors
i choose you over crystal ball
standing at summer’s end watching
sunset usher in your indigo shadows
clinging to the wart of carnal vice
seeking easy distraction, shelley, stoker
like trick or treat housing idle threat
but what of my autumn harvest
faithful fruit and divine offering
can i shed this costume and
return to eden
