i haven’t the secret
that will fill the hole
or soak up sadness
like a paper heart
no magic knowledge
to guide you through
splintered looking-glass
now covered in clouds
but i spied you once
wrapped in navy blue
speckled with sapphire
gazing at the world
you found your feet
then joined the dance
don’t sit out now

I don’t know the secret either. But my feet hurt; I think I will sit this one out after all. 😉
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:06 am
Just a quick rest Darc – we need to keep trudging along. Besides, you can dance when nobody is looking. 😉
February 22nd, 2010 at 10:31 pm
Inspirational words that make me want to go and do things I have not done yet….with a smile! Thanks! 🙂
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:07 am

The way of a mom. 😉
February 23rd, 2010 at 10:32 am
The most amazing aspect of this poem is, I think, it’s unbelievable progress.. The last few lines were a perfect ending. Bravo, once again!
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:04 pm
Moms must urge them along. 😉

February 23rd, 2010 at 12:59 pm
Wow,
what a show!
I know someone who do sit out the dance while i was in college,
very sense making and
“wrapped in navy blue
speckled with sapphire
gazing at the world
you found your feet
then joined the dance”
love these magical lines.
Best!
😉
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:08 pm
Makes me sad to think of folks sitting out…the dance leads one to joy. 🙂
February 23rd, 2010 at 1:42 pm
Love it. Simple, but yet the words were magical and went together very nicely. Keep writing!

Thank you for stopping by…love Jingle and the Poets’ Rally!
February 23rd, 2010 at 2:16 pm
I am a bit partial to lines about the looking glass. 🙂 I love the sense of this, trying to encourage, trying to sympathize. And of course, the dancing. 😀
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:09 pm
Can’t really go wrong if you end with a dance. 😉
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:01 pm
That’s beautiful. I wish life were more like a dance.
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:10 pm
Turn up the ipod! You’ve got a little one…perfect excuse for dancing!
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:30 pm
Music I do hear it but when it moves my body it’s not a pretty picture… At high school the best dancer tried to teach me but gave up after lots of failed evenings… Can’t you publish your poetry?
Gosh my stomach ache is getting worse, I won’t finish checking my favourite blogs tonight.
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:41 pm
Dancing is not about how you look, it is about how you feel. 😉 I have published a few poems and should probably get to submitting some more, lol…thank you for the push. I had hoped to hear that things were improving for you health wise…oh dear, sending stealthy ninja blessings.
February 24th, 2010 at 10:55 am
Those ninjas made it possible for me to kick my stomach ache and blog to day, thank you for finding them… And they know their business.
So glad to know you’re publishing
February 24th, 2010 at 3:53 pm
Sending even more stealthy ninja blessings! 😉
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:40 pm
I needed this today. Lord. Thank You! Went through much of the day embarrassed about who I am. Apologizing for my art. Odd. Not even sure where that came from. No one was projecting that onto me. Just….looking at myself through a ‘splintered looking glass’. Walking away thoughtfully. Thanks again….Namaste. 🙂
February 24th, 2010 at 6:58 am
Sounds like how I ended my evening. Fighting some weird little demon lately myself. Need to give the bugger the boot and just get on with things. 🙂
February 24th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
A billion ‘YAVO!!!’s to that! Big Hugs and Namaste. 🙂
February 24th, 2010 at 9:03 pm
lol Keep on keepin’ on.
February 23rd, 2010 at 10:43 pm
I don’t know why I picture a beautiful sparkling pendant tied up around a neck. It longs to be free and would rather lay broken on the ground than stay trapped immobile.
I know that wasn’t your intent but still it spoke to me that way. I suppose it’s like us sometimes when we want to do something because we are spectacular but feel trapped into staying where we are.
February 24th, 2010 at 7:00 am
I like that, it helps to remind me that we can’t see everything that is coming so perhaps it is better to drop the looking glass and dance in the moment. Thank you, I needed that today.
February 24th, 2010 at 1:52 am

February 24th, 2010 at 9:06 pm
Feeling is mutual. 😉 I may need to follow your lead and slow things down. Life outside of the blogosphere is pretty demanding lately and I feel like I am behind on everything with my blog.
February 25th, 2010 at 12:18 am
fabulous is the only word that can describe it.
February 25th, 2010 at 7:34 am

February 27th, 2010 at 3:56 am
thank you…am a little scared…have never traveled that road before…but also excited…at finally arriving at such a peaceful beautiful place in my life…it does nauseate me a bit…hehehe
February 28th, 2010 at 1:11 pm
I’m coming up on 26 years this May. It will be okay. The wedding is just a day the rest you already have figured out. 😉
February 26th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
Slightly sad but charming as always Jaymie.
It makes me want to put on my dancing shoes and boogie all night long. We all know that many Caucasian males aren’t the best dancers, except possibly for rare gems like Gene Kelley and Fred Astaire.
Oh there I go again wanting my youth back. At least the memory is still there! 😉
February 28th, 2010 at 1:12 pm
Sometimes it is tough to be young. I’m pretty happy where I am. 🙂
February 27th, 2010 at 7:28 am
simple, yet elegant, your work always reflects so much more, reminds me of a prism held up to light, one simple ray that splits in to such beauty, opens new doors to possibility and makes me wonder just how I got there.
February 28th, 2010 at 1:14 pm
Sometimes I feel like the prism. Just the mechanism observing the view.
